Time for a new type/anti-type, G.B? 2033 is the new 1975!
by The Fall Guy ina well known scripture says, "however, do not let this escape your notice, beloved ones, that one day is with jehovah as a thousand years......." (2 peter 3:8) .
using this divine calculation of time, let's apply it to a prophetic type/anti-type scenario:.
matthew 16:21 says, ".....the christ would suffer and rise from among the dead on the third day...", while john 21:1 reveals that it was at the very beginning of that third day - "on the first day of the week, mary magdalene came to the tomb early, while it was still dark, and she saw that the stone had already been taken away from the tomb.

The sad thing is that were the GB to try something like this, enough of the R&F would have sufficient capacity for self-delusion to fall for it.
1975 is now a distant memory, just like 1925 was a distant memory during the lead-up to 1975. However, it is unlikely to happen, as there is no 21st Century equivalent of FW Franz amongst them. (Thank goodness!)

If capitalism requires "a lot of regulations and control", then communism requires that in spades! The communist countries were highly bureaucratic in nature, which was one of the things that led to their demise.

Ironically, at the time many of my generation were leaning towards communism (i.e. in the late 1960s / early 1970s), those living under communism had already realised it was a failure. Not, of course, that they could voice those opinions too loudly!
That anything got done at all in the communist countries of Eastern Europe was due entirely to an informal (and illegal) barter economy that operated by default. (That from a work colleague who managed to defect from Romania while Ceausescu was still in charge).

- In other words, the inevitable result of removing all incentives to do anything extra. (An attitude quickly develops of "why bother, you get no thanks for it").

w 1951 3/15 the above agrees with the new world translation of the christian greek scriptures in its appendix, page 769, in saying that the instrument upon which jesus was nailed was a stake without a crossbeam, and not the religiously represented “cross”; and that the greek word used for that instrument in ancient time meant a “stake” and not the conventional religious cross.

So much for the old, popularly held JW belief that nobody had knowledge of the Koine Greek language to match that of FW Franz. (And all that talk in the Truth book about the Greek words "stauros", "xylon" etc.)

No go field service days
by Steel init's canada day today and not just any canada day, it's canada's 150 birthday.
for some strange reason i was actually able to reason with my wife day and she agreed with me.
field service on a special day wouldn't be appropriate.

In all my time with that lot, never was any consideration given to whether or not it was a "good" time or day to attempt to speak to people.

Certainly plausible!
That is the sort of thing that can happen when amateurs start playing with explosives. (And one of the reasons why, in countries like this, the sale and handling of explosives is strictly licensed).

Reached a milestone today!
by Bungi Bill intoday represents for me something of a milestone.
after breaking both bones in my lower left leg nearly four months ago, i am now able to walk without the aid of crutches.
also, the orthopedic specialist has cleared me to once more drive a motor vehicle.

Thanking everyone for their kind thoughts.
The physiotherapists inform me that my leg muscles have now regained their former strength, but still need further work to build up endurance. Yesterday, I was given a solid work out in the gym, then provided with a set of exercises to perform each day at home. As they say, though, "You cannot train without pain" . (That and thank goodness for paracetamol !)
